Purchase Tickets Now To Attend in Person, or To Live Stream!

Before you start filling out the ticket form, we need to have a talk…

I dislike filling out ticket forms as much as you, and here I am having to create one! And, in spite of my best efforts, the form is complicated. Here’s why…

It allows you to buy tickets to any, or all, of 4 concerts. It allows you to buy tickets to attend in person, or by watching a live stream. It offers discounts for both in-person, and live stream. It has different prices for each, and another price for students.

That’s a lot of information to try and include in a single form!

So here are my recommendations for completing the ticket form:

1. Be patient. You are not stupid. The form maker might be, but he has tried his best, so please bear with him.

2. Many of the form’s fields reveal themselves as you answer the questions. So, answer the questions in the exact order they are asked.

3. When you have completed all the data fields, entered your credit card information, checked the “I Am A Human” box, and hit Submit, it will take a few seconds for the transaction to be processed, then one of two things will happen:

If everything worked, the screen will scroll up and you will see confirmation of your purchase in a big, white box. You should also receive an email confirmation a few minutes later.

If the transaction did not work, the screen will jiggle a little, but you will not see the white Confirmation box. This most likely means you have not completed a required field. Look carefully through the form for the error message: “YOU ARE REQUIRED TO FILL IN THIS FIELD (ANSWER THIS QUESTION)!!” Complete that field, and try to Submit again (you might have to check the “I Am A Human” box again). If there is still a field you have not completed, look for that error message again, and complete that field.

4. If you are getting too frustrated, text/call me, Dave Ross, at 562 438-1000, and I will be more than happy to help you. Helping you will help me feel less bad about having created a complicated form.

5. Upon receiving the confirmation message that your ticket transaction was successful, feel like a patient genius who has made a form-challenged jazz concert promoter a little happier.

HERE WE GO!

Tickets are $50/person, $15/student, or $15 to view the Live Stream. As you complete the purchase form, you will be given the option of buying tickets to all four concerts, and receive a 20% discount! The different ticket options reveal themselves as you complete the form, so please complete each data field in sequence. If you have any questions, click on the Live Support button (lower right), or email: Dave@JazzSalon.org.

There will be no paper tickets issued. After your purchase, your name will be added to the check-in list. If you are purchasing tickets for just one concert, be sure you enter the names of everyone in your party below, so we can make check-in easier. Thank you.

For nearly 20 years, Betty Hoover presented Jazz at the A Frame in her home in the Hollywood Hills. In the process, she created a community of jazz lovers and musicians, who loved the A Frame jazz series, with its informal intimacy, and friendships, and loved and revered their dear friend, Betty.

Betty’s favorite singer, and a frequent A-Frame performer, was singer Denise Thimes.

Currently starring with the Count Basie Orchestra, Denise Thimes has sung all over the world, with artists as diverse as David Sanborn and Wynton Marsalis “Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra”.  Denise has sung for the Queen of Thailand, for Queen Elizabeth II, for President George W Bush, and was handpicked by the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, to perform for her 72nd birthday celebration!  As legendary trumpet player, Clark Terry, put it, Denise’s voice “ranks with all of the greats”.”

The Marlonius Jazz Orchestra (MJO) is a custom, handpicked band of young musicians, who already play with jazz giants.  They have performed with music legends, including Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Wayne Shorter Michael Bublé and Tony Bennett.  The MJO led by the bass virtuoso, Marlon Martinez, who is the Billy Strayhorn Scholar-In-Residence at the Colburn School.  They combine the lush sound of Duke Ellington, with the excitement of cutting edge jazz!

The MJO features Jake Chapman on vibes!

The concert will be presented in the beautiful 3rd floor Centennial Ballroom of the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

Food and beverages will be available, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Reservations are are encouraged by contacting Mario Hernandez at mario.hernandez@laac.net, or 323 360-6898.

Beautiful hotel rooms are available at the club at a special rate. Call the front desk, 213-625-2211, and provide the guest code: JAZZ.

Secure, indoor parking is available at the club, 646 South Olive Street LA 90014, with a $10 validation.
